Response: DHHS has no data to support estimates. There are estimates on the internet of the percent of people per thousand population who may use marijuana for medical purposes, but there is no way to validate the data. Those estimates indicate that as few of 2,000 patients may apply statewide. Others closer to the referendum movement believe there may be as many as 20,000 eligible patients who want to apply.
