How will the amount of the caps and the type of injuries be decided?
This plan will give government the legislative authority to define the classification of injuries and the corresponding amounts of the caps for non-economic awards. In keeping with this governments proven commitment to consult and listen to people, we will ask the legal community, insurance companies, the Medical community, and others to assist us in classifying the injuries and establishing the corresponding amounts. These will be in place by July 1, 2003.
