How will the Academy manage exclusion?
Sheppey Academy would adopt the model policy on behaviour and exclusions required of all Academies as part of their funding agreement (usually Annex 4). This would require the Academy to have regard to the Secretary of State’s guidance on behaviour and exclusions – “Improving Behaviour and Attendance: Guidance on Exclusion from Schools and Pupil Referral Units” – as though it were a maintained school (with relevant procedural differences to reflect its independent status).
