How will students, staff, and area residents be affected during construction and renovation?

Despite some inconveniences, Jefferson High School and the school grounds will remain open, safe, and operational throughout the estimated two-year construction period, including the pool. If approved, the new construction can proceed on site with little interruption to the existing building. Renovations to the auditorium, music areas and district offices will likely take place during summer months. Demolition of the remaining building will not take place until construction is complete and students and staff have made the transition to the new school. Our top priority will be to maintain safety and minimize disruptions to students and staff throughout the construction and renovation schedule.
