AMNH has successfully recruited diverse participation within New York State for its NSF-supported undergraduate research programs and pre-college science pipeline programs (which have enjoyed high participation rates by minorities and women). As part of its doctoral student recruitment, AMNH will reach out to successful participants in these programs and will employ a variety of techniques to encourage the involvement of, and applications from, students in groups underrepresented in science.
