How will students complete schoolwork missed at their zoned high school?
It is the student’s responsibility to ask teachers from their zoned high schools to provide them with assignments they miss while at the School prior to the School day (e.g., by the previous Friday for 9th graders, who are on Vanderbilt’s campus on Mondays). Following each School day, Vanderbilt student mentors will be available to assist School students from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Students are also encouraged to request an independent study course at their zoned school for one hour per day, dedicated as time to pursue missed work. We strongly encourage students to establish and maintain close communication with all of their teachers regarding assignments and any extra time commitments required (e.g., band rehearsals, out-of-town trips, etc.).
