How will stormwater management of the roadway be addressed?

This project will create new impervious pavement and sidewalk areas, therefore mandating the control of stormwater coming from these locations. A significant portion of the roadway drainage will be conveyed to either the existing pond(s), maintained by the Peterson Companies on the east side of the Parkway, or to a new VDOT pond to be located in the northwest quadrant of the Fair Lakes intersection/interchange. VDOT is currently analyzing the feasibility of using the existing ponds and is in discussion with the Peterson Companies on a potential agreement.
