Stipend payments are made twice a month (the 15th and the last of the month) by check. It is recommended that fellows open a U.S. bank account in order to deposit their checks. Fellows are expected to finance expenses incurred during their first two to four weeks from personal resources, as stipend advances typically cannot be made.
