How will Santos dispose of the brine left over from the reverse osmosis process?
For the pilot program, the brine from treatment of the incidental water will be carted via road or train to a treatment facility which is licenced to take the brine. Further investigation into brine management, such as providing the salt for soda ash production, will be undertaken if Santos continues operations in the Gunnedah Basin.
