How will Sacramento County benefit from having Walltown?
Walltown Quarry will first and foremost provide a local source of material for infrastructure and development projects. In addition, Walltown Quarry will provide employment and tax revenue sources for the County. It is anticipated that Walltown Quarry will directly employ approximately 75, high-paid, union workers and approximately 25 additional full salaried staff with an annual payroll of approximately $7 million. The construction aggregate material produced from the quarry will maintain an additional +/- 400 other craft construction workers and another +/- 100 fulltime, salaried staff personal for Granite’s Sacramento Valley Branch’s heavy civil construction business. The total annual payroll for the greater Sacramento area is approximately $25 million. Annually, the county can expect the following economic impacts as a result of Walltown Quarry’s operations.
