How will reorganization improve the Department?
Many consumers and Department employees feel that the Department is currently organized in a way that makes it hard to have decisions made in a timely manner and with the customer’s service needs in mind. Upon joining the Department, Secretary Butterworth noted he feels decision making should be occurring at the lowest possible level so that consumers can have their questions answered and issues taken care of as quickly as possible. The proposed reorganization of the Department would allow consumers to receive high quality, timely services, and it will allow the Department to make a bigger difference where it counts: serving consumers and creating a stronger relationship with consumers and Florida’s communities at the local level.
