How will Quality Circle Time get a look in with the current emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy?
In the debate about School Effectiveness, there is a growing consensus that a positive learning environment, clarity about the shared values of the school, a positive approach to discipline, and an emphasis on raising self-esteem are key features of effective schools and can contribute to raising standards. Quality Circle Time techniques could also be used during the Literacy and Numeracy Hour particularly during the final plenary section when children are required to reflect on their own learning during the session.
