How will PVAAS data help school leaders?
PVAAS gives feedback to school leaders on student performance, and allows school leaders to track the progress of districts, buildings, and individual students over time. PVAAS provides additional data for decision-making, and is an important metric for judging school or program effectiveness. Value added data also yields information on student progress by subject area and grade level, progress of students from different prior achievement levels, and comparison of progress across curricular areas. PVAAS uses each students starting point to monitor and predict progress, so that at-risk students can be identified and instructional interventions made before a student fails or is referred for special education.
