How will pipelines be cleared of materials such as methanol and diesel?
The proposal for pipeline cleaning is to displace all remaining gaseous hydrocarbons, condensate/water, sand, silt and any other form of debris by what is called pigging (refers to the method of sending a tool down the pipelines in order to clean them), and flushing. All pipelines have been depressurised.
