For both state accountability ratings and Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP), accountability decisions will go through established decision-making processes. For state accountability, this process includes an Educator Focus Group that will meet in February and Commissioner’s Accountability Advisory Committee that will meet in March. Final decisions from this process will be announced in early April 2009. For AYP specific changes are reviewed by the Texas Title I Committee of Practitioners and submitted for approval to the USDE in mid-February 2009. Over the next few weeks, districts will be notified as soon as any decisions are made that potentially impact the 2009 state and federal accountability systems.
