How will PeopleSoft Payroll work and how will it interact with CIPPS?
• The PeopleSoft North American Payroll Module will be used to gather payroll information for all VCCS employees and to send Time and Labor for wage employees, the special pay earnings, exceptions for non-exempt salaried employees and deduction override information to CIPPS for final certification and calculation of gross-to-net of employee’s pay for each pay period. In order to send the required pay information to CIPPS, the North American Payroll Module has to initially run in PeopleSoft. • There are additional steps in the payroll process with periodic reporting to internal and external financial and tax entities. • CIPPS is the system of record for certifying the payroll for VCCS employees. • CIPPS issues checks and sends direct deposits to the employee’s bank accounts. • Taxes are calculated in CIPPS and sent to the tax agencies. • Quarterly and annual tax reports are prepared with CIPPS payroll information. • Employee tax data, garnishments, direct deposits, and US Savings Bonds
