How will OCTOPUS be promoted?
The lottery will be promoted in many ways including U magazine, the website, regional publications etc. Information packs will be going out to all branches in the new year and we hope that all activists will take the opportunity to promote this initiative alongside raising awareness of the work UNISON Welfare does. Since 2003, UNISON Welfare has been holding annual charity challenge events and more than 300 members have taken part raising nearly 500,000 in sponsorship. In 2010, UNISON Welfare will be celebrating its 100th anniversary, so during 2009/10, members can sign up to take part in the charity challenge events to be held in 2010.
