How will NNMC’s patients be affected by the Privacy regulation?
The Privacy regulation supports NNMC’s commitment to keep patient information confidential. New patient rights were created, which include accessing and amending health information as well as filing complaints about privacy issues. HIPAA requires all Covered Entities to send a Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) to all of its patients. TMA will mail the NPP to all military health care system beneficiaries between December-February 2003.
