New York City will use ARRA funds to support new projects and programs and to continue existing projects and programs that would otherwise have been cut or delayed. Projects and programs run the gamut from Medicaid expense relief; construction projects that create jobs while addressing pressing needs of the City’s aging infrastructure; workforce development projects to train and place New Yorkers in jobs; and energy efficiency projects that reduce the City’s carbon footprint.
