How will my paycheck change after the Personal Leave Day (PLD) program ends Sept. 30, 2004?
If you are in Tier 1 your paycheck will look very similar. While the 5 percent is restored to your gross, you must begin contributing 5 percent into CalPERS again, so your take-home pay will remain about the same (it actually will increase a few dollars). If you are in Tier 2, your take-home pay will increase 5 percent. Since you do not pay into CalPERS your take-home pay decreased 5 percent beginning last October in exchange for the PLD. Therefore, when the PLD program ends, your take-home pay will be fully restored. These changes will be reflected in our October paychecks, which we receive Nov. 1.
