How will my participation in a research study affect my health care treatment at the UW HIV Care program?
If you choose to participate in a clinical trial or research study you may have to make more visits to the clinic than you otherwise would. You will always receive the best care available for HIV, even when you are enrolled in a clinical trial. If you choose not to participate in a research study you will still receive the same care at our clinic that you have before. You are not obligated to participate in any studies even if you are asked, and you will not be penalized or have your medical care affected in any way if you choose not to participate.
