A. The money from this program will be used to cover the expense of the acquisition of renewable energy certificates (RECs) and the programs marketing and administration expense. Duke Energy will work to purchase RECs from qualified renewable sources located within your service area as they become available. However, Duke Energy may purchase RECs from outside your service area if local RECs are not available.
