How will Michael Platini be feeling this morning?
As a Frenchman, Platini will be pleased but sheepish like all Frenchmen this morning. Every Frenchman I saw in Paris last night was pleased but sheepish but not in that order. The great thing about the atmosphere in Paris last night was that there was no bitterness. The Irish supporters felt cheated, there is no question about that, and are entertaining conspiracy theories but they were as one on both sides in saying that an injustice was done and that football needs to move with the times to ensure this kind of thing doesn’t happen again.
