In addition, local government staff and elected officials participate in the Project’s three local working groups, which meet periodically.

Representatives from local flood control districts currently participate in all Project Management Team Meetings to ensure that issues related to flood control and water quality are addressed on an ongoing basis. In addition, the project hosts Local Government Forums approximately three times a year to keep local elected officials and staff apprised of new developments in the planning process and to ensure the interests of local cities and counties are taken into consideration.
