How will laptops be used in classes?
The content area (teachers) experts will be the best poised to answer this question. However, every class will be a balance of simulation and practical situations. Traditional foundational skills will continue to be taught in the class or in lab settings. In many cases these skills will be used in virtual simulations on the computer. Question: How will we maintain the technology needed for future years. Answer: Cost savings from designated technology funds, textbook purchases, reduced paper use, and classroom supply costs will sustain the computer purchase into the future. The district will also use the One Cent Sales Tax. It is estimated that it will cost around $350 per student per year to maintain this technology in the future. Maintaining the 1:1 initiative will be a general budget priority. The district is committed to this initiative–a greater portion of the budget will be spent on it.
