How will Jordan Jefferson handle his first career start in Tiger Stadium?
Saturday marks the first home start for Jefferson, whose previous three starts have all come away from home. The Tiger signal caller appeared poised and without any jitters last week against Washington. Hopefully that will also be the case this week when he makes his home debut. The Vanderbilt defense was certainly stingy last week in their 45-0 season opening win, but that was against Western Carolina. This week obviously presents a much more difficult challenge, especially if the Tigers can develop their running game. If not, it will be up to Jefferson to loosen up the Vandy defense by spreading the ball out to his numerous receivers, each of which have the ability to make plays on their own after catching the ball. Last week at Washington, Jefferson showed a propensity to avoid throwing interceptions and the awareness to throw the ball away when nothing was there.
