How will itineraries that are booked but never ticketed or canceled be treated?

These itineraries are considered “passive segments.” American is charged for these bookings by the GDS and, likewise, the agency will be assessed a Source Premium. What if a passenger is booked on a 4 segment itinerary but cancels the return on AA and requests to be booked on another carrier. Will the agency receive a credit for the 2 segments that were canceled? Yes. The agency would only be charged a Source Premium for the two segments remaining on American.
