Maoist Deputy Parliamentary Leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha telephoned me on Friday and informed me that the party had decided to withdraw Dahal’s candidacy. However, I have yet to receive any formal notification. Nonetheless, one candidate still remains. We need to wait for his reaction. How would the process move ahead, given that one of the candidates has opted out? We don’t go for voice voting; we rather divide the votes. You may have noticed that all proposals are put to voting and if the first proposal fails to provide a result, voting on second proposal begins.
