How will it affect SOAS users?
If a SOAS account holder (staff or student) is visiting a site that is part of the scheme, and wishes to connect their laptop to the visited site’s network, they should check on that site’s LIN web pages to see what requirements there are at that site, and what is offered to visitors. This will vary from site to site. There are two ways to connect to a network – wired and wireless, participating sites will offer one or both of these methods. When a SOAS member connects at a visited site they must comply with that institution’s Acceptable Use Policy. Radius provides logging, so that any breaches of policy can be traced if necessary.
