Students in engineering are not permitted to register for any second year science or engineering courses until completion of all first year science and engineering courses. If you are in this situation, you will most likely require 5 years to complete the program. You may, while you are completing the first year requirements, take courses to satisfy the Complementary Studies Elective requirement, thereby reducing your load in the later years.
