How will having to disclose termite damage affect me as a seller?
I am under contract on a house with termite damage. The seller had only been in the house 1 year and this damage was not disclosed to him nor did his inspector find the damage. My inspector did. The damage is substantial and the seller is repairing it. As the buyer I would now be accepting the knowledge of this termite damage and would have to disclose it upon resale of the house. We only plan on being in the house around 5 years. It’s beautiful and we love it, but I an very unsure of how having to disclose this information is going to affect the future resale.
