How will Havering benefit from the 2012 Games?
Staging the Games in the Lea Valley will stimulate a vital economic regeneration programme in the area which will have an enormous impact on the East of London and Havering as a borough. Jobs will be created, volunteering opportunities improved and chances to participate in sports, the arts and other cultural activities increased on a permanent basis. There will be a wealth of other benefits such as cross-city transport improvements, more training and job opportunities and new prospects for businesses in Havering. Up to 12,000 new jobs will be created in the Olympic Park alone.
