How will finger and hand prints affect the development of the patina on untreated copper roofing panels?
Answer Greetings, Finger prints will definitely leave a mark on copper, but in the big picture, really shouldn’t affect the patina in a negative way. If you are concerned, you could wash it with a solution of mild caustic and warm water, followed by a very good clean with detergent and then another good wash followed by air drying. If you want to speed up the patina, then you could mix 100ml ammonia, 50 grmas salt, 10grams copper carbonate in 1 litre of water, and spray on……..this can be done a few times with air drying in between to build the desired colour.
