HOW WILL ESTATE RECOVERY BE ACCOMPLISHED?
The State will file a claim against the estate of deceased medical assistance client. The estate will include all of the property (personal and real) that is left when a client dies. The personal representative handling the estate will use money from the sale of property in the estate to pay the State for the costs of medical care provided to the clients.
