How will employees know what their new classification (i.e., benchmark match) and pay grade are?
Each employee will receive a letter in mid-March advising them of their new classification (i.e., benchmark match) and pay grade. However, some employees will receive a letter saying that they are still “unmatched”. Most employees are in jobs that have been matched with one of the existing benchmarks. However, there are some jobs that are unique, where a good benchmark match was not easily identified. The Total Compensation unit of central HR will endeavour to analyze these jobs, one by one, as soon as possible. We will send employees a second letter once the match has been determined, which will likely be in April.
