How will development integrate with existing communities?
The proposals for a string of eco-villages rather than a single new eco-town reflect Imerys appreciation that redevelopment should complement and enhance existing communities. Engagement with appropriate local government and planning bodies, as well as the local community, will ensure that the benefits of future developments extend beyond the six sites and revitalise the wider clay country area. We will also be sensitive with regard to the built form, building design and materials; all of which will draw inspiration from local Cornish styles and building patterns and will be developed to enhance the existing villages.
