HOW WILL COMPENSATION BE ADMINISTERED AND WHAT CAN DOCTORS APPLY PROCEEDS TO?
The proposed compensation to cover overhead cost, lost income opportunity and impact analysis feedback will be remitted monthly in arrears to participating doctors and it is anticipated that their portion of the global fee (charged to participating companies) will be applied in a tax-neutral fashion to areas of practice expenditure which directly or indirectly enhance quality of patient care. Examples of such would be the large premia which GP’s have to pay each year to part fund the Out-of-Hours Co-operative movement. The resulting reduction in sleep disturbance for hard working doctors makes them happier and safer carers during the busy surgeries following nights on call. Happier doctors, healthier patients.Other targets for funding include computerised records, (the health and epidemiological benefits of which are well documented), practice equipment, new premises development or locum relief. Competence Assurance (CA) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) are to be part and
