How will community sports grounds, schools and public gardens benefit?
Under Stage 3, community sports grounds will receive an additional 800 million litres of water for irrigation, which could, on average see an additional 200 sports grounds being watered – on top of the 380 grounds around Melbourne that are presently being watered. Public gardens will benefit from the gentle relaxation of restrictions. They will also be permitted to water on alternate (odd and even) dates based on their street address, to help better maintain these important community assets.
