How will Choice Based Lettings differ from the existing allocations schemes in Shropshire?

0

At the moment, only the South Shropshire area has a Choice Based Letting Scheme. In other areas, properties are allocated to households on the housing waiting list. Usually the applicant with the highest number of points is offered the property. Applicants can refuse to accept an offer but this may affect their application and there may be a delay before they receive further offers. With Choice Based Letting, properties will be advertised and applicants are able to choose which (suitable) properties they wish to apply (bid) for.
