How will CEP decide whether a course gets a proposed GE designation?
CEP will rely heavily on the new GE category descriptions, and educational goals for them. You can find these at http://senate.ucsc.edu/cep/GE RequirementsIndex.html. (The revised course approval forms soon to be made available will link to these descriptions too.) Faculty proposing that a course receive a GE designation will be expected to demonstrate how the course will meet the Senate’s goals for that GE designation.
