How will cases get scheduled for trial if they were commenced prior to December 31, 2004?
All trial, pre-trial and settlement conference dates fixed as of December 31, 2004 will remain in effect. Counsel are reminded of the obligation to file a trial record in cases where a trial date was obtained without the action having been set down for trial. Where a party has set an action down for trial before December 31, 2004, but no trial date has yet been fixed, any party may contact the trial co-ordinators’ office to request a pre-trial. Trial dates will be assigned at the pre-trial as set out above. Trial scheduling courts for dates after June 30, 2005 have been cancelled. In cases where a trial scheduling court has been scheduled for a date after June 30, 2005, trial dates will be assigned at the pre-trial using the procedure set out above, after one of the parties sets the action down for trial.
