How will cables be installed from one tower to another? Will a helicopter be used?
A transmission line is a set of three wires (conductors) which are attached to the transmission towers. To string the conductor, a helicopter will first fly a lightweight rope from tower to tower. This line will be threaded through rollers attached to the towers. The line is used to pull a steel-pulling cable, which is attached to a pulling machine at one end of the section. The conductor is then pulled from tower to tower. The process takes approximately three to four days per mile.
