How will being part of the national industrial relations system affect my leave entitlements?
The National Employment Standards (NES) will cover annual leave, personal/carer’s leave and parental leave from January 2010. Depending on your award, agreement or contract you may be entitled to more than the NES, but you cannot be given less. Please note employees working in New South Wales are still entitled to long service leave under the NSW Long Service Leave Act 1955 (the Act).
