How will AYP be determined in K-2 and K-3 schools?

These schools do not currently participate in the administration of the Georgia Criterion Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT). For K-2 or K-3 schools, AYP is made when 80% of students are at or above grade level or show a 10% decrease in the percent of the Early Intervention Program (EIP) students from the previous year. Students participating in EIP are considered below grade level by definition of eligibility for EIP services. Thus, for purposes of 2003 AYP, K-2 or K-3 schools should have 20% or fewer students enrolled in EIP or be able to show a decrease of at least 10% from 2002.
