How will area communities be affected by joint basing?
The joining of Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base is intended to be transparent to our Pacific Northwest neighbors. No real growth in the military population or change of mission for the military services is expected as a result of joint basing. Some points of contact and processes may change as a result of changes in the organization, but it will be our task to ensure that those changes are as transparent as possible to our neighbors.
