This is the first new accommodation development on the Island since the 1980s. It will provide additional accommodation to reduce the pressure at peak times and provide a different accommodation experience for those Western Australians and other visitors who are looking for a more fully serviced, hotel-style option. All Western Australians have a right to the type of accommodation that meets their needs, not just those who currently enjoy the Rottnest experience. The development will integrate with the style, activities, existing businesses and infrastructure of Rottnest Island and provide job opportunities in both the construction and operational phases.
