How will Academy status affect my salary and hours of work in school?
A. The terms and conditions of your employment and future salary grading will be as of now. However, we hope the Academy trust may be able to offer additional earning opportunities to you and other teachers. This may be from leading one-to-one tuition, holiday enrichment programmes and adult training courses. Q. The staff at Waycroft work hard to maintain the standards of excellence achieved here. If key staff are required to attend meetings and are involved in the delivery and monitoring of lessons in other schools and therefore away from their own classes, will this affect the standards here? A. We do not see Waycroft staff having to take on additional responsibilities. Consistency and continuity will remain at Waycroft, the sharing of expertise will come via policies; operational systems and good practice can be shared. A key issue for Ilminster and Connaught is recruitment. This will be helped by the fact that candidates will be signing up to an Academy with strong support networks
