HOW WILL A TRAIL EFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT?
The City prides itself on its measures of environmental protection. This past year, the City has preserved over 100 acres of land and has planted over 500 new trees. In the construction of a trail, the City will meet the regulations regarding tree replacements and in environmentally sensitive areas, boardwalk sections might be used. These trails or “greenway corridors” (linear open spaces connecting recreational, cultural and natural areas) are traditionally recognized for their environmental protection.
