How will a single committee (Professional Development Committee) handle the diverse needs of women, underrepresented minorities and other constituencies?
As with the Public Education and Communication Committee, the PDC will be larger than the average SfN committee, having a sufficient number of members and a formal structure of subcommittees to handle diverse professional development needs and issues. The Committee on Women in Neuroscience and the Committee on Diversity in Neuroscience will essentially become robust subcommittees of the new PDC and will shepherd the ongoing and new programs and activities in these two areas.
