How will a Judicial Clerkship affect my search for a permanent position?
Clerkships almost always increase applicant marketability. However, some judges feel strongly about the timing of a clerk’s post-clerkship job search. This is an area that should be explored with each individual judge. Some private sector employers will interview, but not make job offers to applicants with upcoming judicial clerkships. Others will hire and grant a year’s leave of absence.
